Marley and Me book review
Who doesn’t love a best friend who will never judge and loves you regardless of your flaws? In John Grogan‘s Marley and Me this book is a heartfelt true story about learning about what no holds barred love is from a dog. In return‚ he taught the family what unlimited love means. Even through the ups and downs of Marley’s escapades of being more than a handful of a dog‚ he still manages to be loyal to the family no matter what.
A young married couple in love wants to have children someday‚ but thought it a good idea to get a dog to teach them a learning lesson of how to be responsible for a living being. They were not expecting a shenanigan dog that acts like the boss of the house‚ gets kicked out of obedience dog school‚ breaks out of a steel cage that is supposed to be bullet proof‚ and has to be given dog tranquilizers to calm down. Even though Marley’s dog powers seem to include being a brat‚ he also has loyalty powers that are of a saint. He loves his family through thick and thin. When life went south‚ he was always at home to wag his tail and lick them with a hello every day. Marley was there through a lost pregnancy‚ moving‚ new jobs‚ having to deal with crime in their neighborhood and starting a new family. One can’t buy a best friend with a credit card who will show you how to love deeply.
Marley’s heart made my heart melt and also taught me a thing or two about loving no matter what. This is a book that makes me feel good about life. Even if you are not a dog lover‚ after reading this book and whatever you worry about will suddenly disappear. What was left for me was a heart of gratitude for my family and my little puppy Ari.

What a dog! And what a book review too. Nothing really beats a ‘feel-good’ book

What a cute puppy!
Your review is spot on.
I have watched Marley and Me – a very humerous and sad in parts film.

Awww…loved this book. And I also loved the movie. There’s a lot to be learned from a dog‚ yes? We just need to look for the lesson sometimes! LOL

I LOVED this book and I saw the movie. It is so touching. It makes me cry. There are so many lessons we can learn from our pets… only if we pay attention.

Sometimes there is nothing more comforting than a dog. My son came home sick from school last week. He immediately headed for the couch and was joined by his dog. He put his head on the dog and the two of them just laid there like that for hours.

Hi Crystal – I haven’t read this book but I am going to be sure it’s in the house over Christmas – what a fantastic way to spend the week from then until New Year which always seems a bit of a let down. So Marley and Me and also me will be chasing away the post holiday blues. Couldn’t have come at a better time.
