One thank you goes a long way
I slept like a dead person and slept for almost twenty four hours. My head is still feeling like a congested mess but I am hanging in there. What kept me great company and helped me not to wallow in my self-pity sickness was a book called “365 Thank Yous”‚ “The Year a Simple Act of Daily Gratitude Changed My Life”‚ by John Kralik. He is a lawyer who has a failed marriages and failed relationships. His job is in the toilet‚ and he is at an all-time low in his life. He ignores his kids and is drowning in a pool of self-pity. Hey‚ we have all been there. He decides to write 365 thank you cards in one year. The book goes through the series of events of giving the cards to people in his life. He healed relationships with his children and co workers by showing he cared about them. In return‚ people started to take notice of his thank you notes and he started building better relationships with people because he was thinking about someone else for a change. At the end of the year of writing the thank you notes‚ he has a sense of gratitude. All I know is I did not finish the book in a bad mood. I was actually grateful for my sickness and that I got to stay home and read this heartwarming book. Sometimes people need to know they are appreciated and a simple thank you note takes only couple minutes out of a person’s life. Hey‚ I say it is worth it if I am racking up happy points in my piggy bank.
